All product image guides Product photo permission checklist

Check the source before creating another image.

Having a product in stock does not document permission to edit someone else’s photograph. Record the source, allowed use and relevant restrictions before uploading a reference or sharing a generated candidate.

What this shows

A useful record keeps the uncertainty visible.

The diagram separates who supplied the file from what was permitted. It does not decide whether an image is legally cleared or whether a license covers a particular AI workflow.

Editorial conceptOriginal teaching diagram, not a product photograph, Fayvoro generation or customer result. This is an operational record outline, not a legal clearance or license determination.

This image is an editorial concept made for the site. It is not a Fayvoro generation or customer result. AI can change product shape, color, packaging, labels, and text. Check every important detail against the real item.

02 / A PRACTICAL WORKFLOWSTART WITH YOUR PHOTO
01

Identify the original source

Write down the photographer or supplier, the original file or source URL, acquisition date and the agreement or license you rely on. Keep the original record rather than a screenshot of a repost that omits its terms. A search result, competitor listing or public social post is not a permission record.

If you made the photograph yourself, still record any third-party artwork, people or materials that require an additional check for the intended use. Assign a person to resolve open questions. This checklist organizes evidence; it does not replace advice about your particular rights or jurisdiction.

02

Describe the intended action precisely

Separate storefront display, paid advertising, editing, sharing with a contractor and uploading to a generation service. Ask the supplier or photographer about the specific intended action when the existing agreement is unclear. Do not broaden a permission for displaying an unchanged image into an assumed permission for every transformation.

For openly licensed material, read the actual license version and conditions. Creative Commons distinguishes commercial-use and adaptation conditions, among others, and documents attribution. Naming the creator alone does not satisfy every license condition. Do not treat this page as an interpretation of whether your proposed generation counts as an adaptation.

03

Retain permission with the deliverable

Connect the approved reference and allowed-use record to the exported candidate. Preserve any required source, author, license and modification notices in the handoff. If the final placement or workflow changes, recheck the permission scope rather than carrying forward a generic “cleared” flag.

When a necessary permission remains unresolved, use your own eligible photograph or ask for an explicit answer before uploading. Fayvoro does not verify copyright, secure model releases or certify licensing for your reference. Accurate product review is a separate step after any generation.

Practical decision card

Write down the permission you rely on

This is an evidence checklist, not a legal determination. An unclear field stays a question for the responsible owner.

Manual planning and review; no automatic product inspection.

A completed record is not clearance. It does not evaluate model releases, trademarks, other rights or a jurisdiction-specific conclusion.
Direction to try

A useful starting note.

Use this as a starting point, then adjust it for your own product. No prompt can guarantee exact product details.

Use my permitted photograph of the actual product as the reference for one simple secondary scene. Avoid adding people, new artwork, labels or other branded products. I will retain the source record and review the output before its intended use.
Before you publish

Check the details.

  • Original creator or supplier and the source record are identified.
  • The specific upload, editing and publication uses have been checked.
  • Applicable notices and license conditions remain with the handoff.
  • Unresolved permissions are held instead of marked cleared.
Common questions

A few things to know.

Does owning the item document photo rights?

It does not establish permission from the photographer. Check the image source and applicable agreement for the intended use.

Is attribution always enough?

No. Licenses can have other conditions. Read the actual terms and resolve the specific use before proceeding.

Does this checklist provide legal approval?

No. It records evidence and questions. Fayvoro does not evaluate your legal rights or secure permission.
