All product image guides Product image A/B testing

Test an image question, not a hunch.

A new product scene can become a challenger to an existing image. Decide what you want to learn, keep the product and placement consistent, and run the actual traffic split in a separate testing tool.

What this shows

Before and after is not an A/B test.

The bottle pair shows one way to produce a different scene. It was not shown to split audiences and has no performance measurement. Your own experiment needs a control, comparable exposure, and a prechosen decision metric.

Live Fayvoro resultThis is an input/result pair, not randomized A/B traffic or evidence of better clicks, orders, or revenue.

This is one demonstration result; your result may differ. AI can change product shape, color, packaging, labels, and text. Check every important detail against the real item.

02 / A PRACTICAL WORKFLOWSTART WITH YOUR PHOTO
01

Write a question your test can answer

Pick one SKU, one placement, and one difference: for example, a factual front photo versus a reviewed lifestyle scene in a secondary gallery slot. Keep price, copy, audience, timing, and destination as stable as your test setup allows.

Do not replace a required accurate main listing image with a generated scene just to run a test. Choose a placement where both images are permitted and the real product remains recognizable.

02

Create and approve the challenger

Use a real product photo in Fayvoro and make one alternate scene. Record the source, prompt direction, chosen format, and credit cost. Each generation is a separate attempt; Fayvoro does not batch linked variations or preserve every product detail.

Reject a challenger that changes labels, count, shape, or claims. An attractive but inaccurate image is not a valid treatment for a selling experiment.

03

Measure in the place that serves traffic

Set up visitor or ad-opportunity assignment in your store, ad platform, or testing tool; Fayvoro does not split traffic or read your analytics. Choose the outcome before the test starts, such as purchases for a product-page test or clicks for a top-of-funnel placement.

Avoid calling a winner from a few visits or from a before/after period with a changed offer. Keep the original image and a record of the test dates, exposure, and result so the next image choice has evidence.

Experiment card

Write the comparison
before the result.

Make one reviewed scene challenger, then run randomized assignment and measurement in your own store or ad-testing tool. This card does not split traffic, calculate significance, or save results.

Write one visual question.Control: approved real product image · Challenger: one reviewed Fayvoro scene

Placement: Secondary product-page image. Decide using purchases observed in your external experiment. Keep the SKU, offer, audience, timing, and destination comparable; record exposure before drawing a conclusion.

Do not treat the bottle before/after example as a test result. A generated image with incorrect product details should be rejected before it reaches an experiment.
Direction to try

A useful starting note.

Use this as a starting point, then adjust it for your own product. No prompt can guarantee exact product details.

Use my uploaded product photo as the reference for one alternative lifestyle scene for an image test. Keep the full item visible on a simple warm surface with soft side light. Do not add labels, claims, props crossing the item, or extra products.
Before you publish

Check the details.

  • The control and challenger show the same real SKU.
  • Only the intended visual difference changes in the chosen placement.
  • The challenger passes a source-versus-output product check.
  • An external tool handles assignment and measurement; no result is claimed before data exists.
Common questions

A few things to know.

Does Fayvoro run the A/B test?

No. Fayvoro creates individual candidate images. Use your store, ad platform, or a dedicated testing tool to split traffic and measure outcomes.

Is the bottle pair evidence of a conversion lift?

No. It is one generation demonstration. No visitors, orders, or controlled results were measured from the pair.

How many images should I generate?

Begin with one meaningful challenger to an accurate control. Additional requests use credits, and every candidate needs product review before testing.
